12x12 : It's Cool to Be Square

Open to members of the Wilmington Art Association, this is an annual exhibition at the gallery space of the Arts Council of Wilmington. This year’s theme is 12x12, meaning that it is limited to original works exactly 12”x12” in size without frame (13x13 framed) if 2D, or no larger than 12” x12”x18” in 3D.

• June 15 - Accepted works announced
• June 26 – Accepted works delivered to ACES Gallery, 10am – 2pm 
• June 28 – Fourth Friday Gallery Night Opening Reception
• July 23 - Show Ends/Unsold works picked up, 10am – 2pm 

ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

• All entries must be for sale.
• Art must remain in show until designated time for pick-up.
• The artist must have sole ownership over the artwork.
• Artists should register for a time slot to volunteer during the show.
• Artist or designee must deliver artwork to the ACES on designated date/time. Shipped or mailed art will not be accepted.
• The WAA allows photographs to be taken during the event.
• All jurying and judging are done anonymously. The Judge’s decision on acceptance is final.
• The WAA maintains the rights to use photographs of the art and the event for future marketing or promotional materials.
• Upon entering the show and by submitting payment, the artist agrees to the terms and conditions as outlined in this Prospectus. 

EXHIBITED ARTWORK ELIGIBILITY 

• Artwork must be solely the creation of the artist. 
• Artwork must be original in conception, composition and implementation.
• No kits, copies, collaborative works or workshop pieces will be accepted.
• No replicas, giclee reproductions or any modified, copied or imitated art will be accepted.
• The quality of the creation and design should be consistent with a fine art show.
• No furniture, jewelry, tea or dining sets allowed.
• No erotic or violent themes will be accepted.
  The artwork must have not been previously exhibited in any WAA art show and must have been completed after January 1 2020.
  Artwork requiring individual easels will not be accepted.
  Weight of 2D art must not exceed 15lbs
  Upon check-in, 2D artwork must be ready for hanging on the display panels.

RULES

• Artists cannot hang, place or move any artwork. The WAA hanging team will do this on your behalf with the utmost care and professionalism.
• Artwork that does not meet the criteria outlined herein or that is not ready for display will be refused/removed/returned.
• Work that does not meet criteria can be refused on the day of check-in. WAA and affiliates reserve the right to refuse artwork entries and cannot be held liable for any damage or loss.
• Artists must abide by the prospectus, rules, entry terms and conditions and all other guidelines as included herein on the WAA website, or any additional WAA communications.
• After registering art, if art sells prior to the show start date, the piece is committed to hanging as SOLD and will be subject to a 35% commission.

SALES

• The artist is committed to the sale price(s) listed upon registration.
• A 35% commission will be taken on all sales – 30% to ACES/5% to WAA.
• Sales tax will be paid by ACES
